Direct Methanol Fuel Cell(DMFC) shows tremendious potential in the applications ofportable electronic devices. Success in the development of this technology is vital to the domestic electronic industry as well as local economics. DMFC materials adapted largely from that developed for PEMFC, but operated at lower temperature, and the fuel feed to the anode is concentrated methanol instead of hydrogen gas. These differences require development of novel materials for DMFC. Both materials developments and balancing of plant presents new challenges for academic researches.
