本研究分析來自化妝品常用之二十八種精油之總酚含量測定、清除DPPH自由基能力及總抗氧化能力,並進一步以氣相層析質譜儀(GC-MS)分析主要精油之化學組成。結果顯示總酚含量測定(TPC)、清除DPPH自由基能力(DFRS)、總抗氧化能力(TEAC),實驗證實TPC與TEAC、DFRS成正相關性,以冬季香薄荷(Savory, Satureja montana )精油在實驗樣品中其抗氧化力最為顯著,當樣品濃度為1 mg/ml時,DFRS為73.74%,半數有效抑制濃度(EC_(50))為294.51 μg/ml。以氣相層析質譜儀(Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometer, GC-MS)鑑定其主要化學成分,其主要成份含量有香芹酚(Carvacrol)59.71%與對-傘花烴(p -Cymene)22.01%、百里香酚 (Thymol)8.02%、α- 品烯(α-Terpinene)4.74%、β-石竹烯(β-Caryophyllene)2.72%、1R-α-蒎烯(1R-α-Pinene)1.56%,將其分別配置成濃度1mg/ml,進一步探討DFRS。其組成DFRS依序為:Thymol > Savory > Carvacrol > β-Caryophyllene > α-Terpinene > p -Cymene 結果顯示酚化合物為主要抗氧化之成份。
This study was to examine the in vitro antioxidant activities of twenty-eight commonly used essential oils and their major components by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS). In the total phenolic contents(TPC)and the DPPH free radical scavenging ability(DFRS)and trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity(TEAC), Savory essential oil is the best among these essential oils,the major chemical component was carvacrol. 1mg/ml of Savory essential oil was 73.74% of the DPPH free radical scavenging ability and its EC_(50) is 294.51 μg/ml. At the concentration of 1mg/ml, Savory and five of its main components were designed to examine the DPPH free-radical scavenging activity. It is clear that the DPPH free radical scavenging activity is in the following order: thymol > savory > carvacrol >β-caryophyllene > α-terpinene > p -cymene , Thymol was the major component that attributed the high DPPH free-radical scavenging activity of savory essential oil.
