Integration of the World Café into University General Curriculum of Citizenship Education

This study adopts focus group interview to explore the effectiveness of integrating the World Café into university general curriculum of citizenship education. It selects ten students from those attending in this general course of a University in the northern Taiwan to participate the discussion and conducts focus group interview in the middle of January of 2011 by means of total sound recording and written record by observers. Then, it transfers the recording and notes into transcripts for researchers to read and discuss, so as to finish the qualitative data analysis. The study finds most students think the discussion pattern of the World Café is relatively relaxed which makes them dare to have their statement; in addition, the ordered statement presentation and listening produces a moderate discussion, while the team work can also arise general opinions which is facilitated the change of attitude of citizen participation.
