科學博物館大銀幕電影院選片之前置性評量

Front-end Evaluation of Science Museum Giant Screen Theater Films

摘要


本研究應用博物館觀眾前置性評量的概念與方法,以國立科學工藝博物館(以下簡稱科工館)的大銀幕電影院(IMAX 3D Theater)為研究場域,從不同對象進行大銀幕電影院選片問題與原則之探討。本研究主要目的包含探討觀眾喜愛及不喜愛之影片的特性;針對科工館考慮租映的10部影片進行前置性評量,以提供4部可優先租映之影片與安排建議;以及綜合文獻探討、觀眾調查與訪談結果,歸納出博物館大銀幕電影院選片的參考原則。本研究結果在實務面可實際提供科工館及其他博物館選片方式之參考;在學術面則具有擴展國內博物館觀眾研究內涵的意義與價值。依據研究目的,經文獻探討、資料蒐集、分析歸納後,本研究主要發現與建議如下:一、受觀眾喜愛的影片具有教育性、趣味性、體驗性等特徵,而觀眾不喜愛的電影特性為劇情不清楚與完整、時間過短且無連貫性、無教育性、體驗性不佳等。二、針對10部影片的評量結果,建議科工館可優先租映4部影片,分別為「衝浪高手」、「飛行傳奇」、「大峽谷探險」、「帶我飛上月球」等片。三、綜合文獻與研究發現,科學博物館大銀幕電影院影片選擇之考慮因素可歸納為影片本身的因素、博物館整體的因素,以及外部因素等3類。

Since the 1970s, Image Maximum Theater (referred to as IMAX Theater or Giant Screen Theater) has been used as an educational instrument by science museums. Hundreds of museums around the world have established giant screen theaters. However, little research has been conducted on giant screen theater-related issues. In this study, the concepts and methods of front-end evaluation were employed to examine the issues regarding film selection for giant screen theaters in science museums, with the IMAX Theater of the National Science and Technology Museum (NSTM) serving as an example. Interviews, focus groups and questionnaires were used to collect data from volunteers working in the theaters, frequent visitors and IMAX film viewers. From qualitative and quantitative data analyses, the major findings are as follows: 1. Audiences prefer films that are educational, entertaining and experiential. On the other hand, they dislike films in which the story is unclear or incomplete or that are too short or that lack educational inspiration or experiential features. 2. Among a total of 10 films that were included in the study, four are recommended. They are: The Ultimate Wave: Tahiti 3D, Legends of Flight, Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk 3D and Fly Me to the Moon. 3. Three categories of factors should be taken into account when selecting films for science museum giant screen theaters. They are the features of the film, features and operating strategy of the museum and external factors.
