This study explored the substantive influence of the thought of Sun Yat-sen on helping the weak and aiding the needy reflected in the Chinese government's overall policy and vaccine diplomacy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Given that the lack of vaccines and medical resources has resulted in irrecoverable losses in undeveloped countries, the implementation of Sun Yat-sen's ideal of helping the weak and aiding the needy may tone down the antipathy toward China's Wolf Warrior' Diplomacy, Confucius Institute, and Belt and Road Initiative, all of which inciting concerns for the infringement of national sovereignty.
