於臺灣智駕測試實驗室之自駕車自駕功能測試驗證

Self-Driving Car Autonomy Testing and Verification in Taiwan CAR Lab

摘要


開放場域測試是自駕車技術開發以及整個自駕車相關產業發展重要的挑戰及里程碑,去年度工研院機械所自駕車團隊為了讓自行開發的自駕車能合法地在開放場域測試更接近實際應用情境,與新竹市政府共同向交通部提出自動駕駛道路測試申請,由於道路交通安全規則第20條及其附件21規定,自駕車必須先在封閉場域完成測試驗證,才得以於開放場域測試,本團隊便展開在臺灣智駕測試實驗室封閉場域測試的旅程。在我國無人載具科技創新實驗條例子法及申請辦法尚未制訂且史無前例的狀況下,我們建立國內第一套串聯13種道路環境以及68項交通狀況的自駕功能測試規範及方法,且率先國內其他單位完成驗證。測試結果經由交通部、新竹市政府、台灣智駕實驗室和車輛測試中心共同確認後,我們順利申領全國首張「試0001」自駕車專用試車牌,在新竹南寮自駕運行。

Public road testing is a major challenge and serves as the milestone for development of self-driving technology and related industries. Last year, to verify our self-driving car in public road and to bring our development closer to practical applications, the self-driving team of Mechanical and Mechatronics Systems Research Labs, Industrial Technology Research Institute, worked with Hsinchu City government to propose a self-driving car testing project to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC). According to Article 20 of Road Traffic Safety Regulations and its Annex 21, self-driving cars have to be verified in private roads before public road tests. Thus, we started the private road testing at Taiwan CAR Lab. As the relevant legislation and application methods have not been formulated and the verification of self-driving cars was unprecedented, we have established the first test specifications for 13 road environments and 68 traffic scenarios and have carried out all the verifications in the private road using our self-driving cars. After the test results were confirmed by the MOTC, the Hsinchu City Government, the Taiwan CAR Lab, and the ARTC, we successfully obtained Taiwan's first self-driving vehicle license plate "試 0001" to test and verify our self-driving car capabilities in the public roads of Nanliao, HsinChu.
