As through the argumentation of etymology, this paper recognizes that the concept of calligraphy is the outcomes of the movements according to Buddha dharma itself, or is said to be embedded in Buddha dharma. During the Northern Song era, Huáng Tíng Jiān introduced Zen into calligraphy, that is, the Zen dharma is conversed in calligraphy; Shì Huì Hóng was propagated it vigorously and recognized Pen and Ink as matters of Buddha. Therefore, the "Text Zen" had become a fashion, and the alignment of the Zen Buddhism and the calligraphy arts have been achieved highly. In modern times, Zen Buddhism and calligraphy combine closely again. People inherit the descendant of the "Text Zen" and proposed the concept of "Calligraphy Zen". In order to explore the convergence and development of Zen dharma and calligraphy. Some monks introduce calligraphy into Zen, but the other calligraphers contrary to introducing Zen into calligraphy.
