STUDY ON APPLYING GREEN WALLS TO BUILDING FACADE

指導教授 : 陳柏翰

並列摘要

A Green Wall, where the foliage covers the external wall of a building, has many benefits for the direct environment as well as for the consumer (owner or occupant) remained limited. One of the benefits is the potential energy savings that come from a reduction in both building’s cooling and heating load (depends on the different climate zones). After conducting research on the different types of Green Walls and their characteristics, the researcher decided to focus this study on calculation the energy saving while applying three most popular Living Walls systems in the market on existing Building’s Façade in various climate zones and combine energy simulation with these systems in order to find out which system is most suitable for Building’s façade. The results determined that Live Panel system is the best alternative for an extensive Green Wall of Case Study’s Building model. A few years ago, the definition of Green Wall either Living Wall systems is still limited in my country – Viet Nam where the Green Building is still in the early age. Fortunately, the developers of this industry such as Architectures, Constructors, Engineers and also Landscape Designers imported the basic knowledge and technologies about Green Wall into Construction Projects in several modern cities of Viet Nam. Until now, these people are still on the way to make Green Wall become more popular and be applied in wide range. For the contribution of the Green Wall’s development in Viet Nam, this study is written for giving some useful knowledge, updated new systems and suggestions for people who are involved in designing, constructing, maintaining and researching Green Wall and its application on Building’s Facade.
