《姊姊的守護者》全劇分為七場:一、無人能睡,二、玩具,三、愛的可能,四、遺物,五、瑪麗亞,六、壞人,七、小孩。全劇緊扣劇名《姊姊的守護者》,以可能守護姊姊的人們逐步開展,在「拖磨」與「希望」間來回,描寫現今長期照護遇到的困境,從家庭內成員阿嬤、妹妹,到代表政府社福單位的社工,再到當前大多人仰賴的外籍看護(瑪麗亞),最後在所有可能的照護者皆失效之後,姊姊幻想自己懷著代表希望但從不存在的小孩,看似無路可出、無法可解的困境,以妹妹返家、自願留下告終。 本劇試圖刻寫長照關係中照護者與被照護者間互相依存又互相怨懟的關係,在這場沒有「壞人」的悲劇中,人們往往爭相扮演著「受害者」,他們時而「表演」委屈、時而故作堅強,有時是防禦武器、有時是乞求同情的手段。為了深入分析本劇,創作說明除了解釋場景、象徵之外,更將聚焦於劇中人物為何「表演」,及他們在不同情境下的「表演」又是如何互相牽制、滲透、複製,盼能藉由這樣的剖析,提出對此一「人間悲劇」的觀察。
My sister’s Keeper is a play that aims to pinpoint the long-term care dilemmas in Taiwan. The play is comprised of seven parts: (1) Nessun Dorma; (2) Toys; (3) The Possibility of Love; (4) Inheritance; (5) Maria; (6)Bad Guy; (7) Children. Each part develops with potential “keepers” of the protagonist, which echoes the name of the play. From her grandma to her little sister, from a social worker to a foreign caretaker, the protagonist has tried to find an ideal caregiver in vain. After all the possible caregivers left her, the story ends with her younger sister’s returning home, providing a faint glimmer for the heroine.
