Design and Implementation of a Baseband Receiver for 3GPP Long Term Evolution System

摘要


為了滿足人們隨時隨地利用智慧型手機與行動裝置上網收發e-mail與使用多媒體的需求。第四代行動電話系統是目前無線通訊的趨勢,其主要訴求在於提供用戶對於高傳輸率的需求及在惡劣環境中依然有良好的收訊品質。在本論文中,根據3GPP LTE標準設計出第四代行動電話系統的基頻接收機架構。 內接收機的主要架構可分為初始同步、追蹤迴路及資料回復。其中初始同步包括符元邊界粗估與細估、分數載波頻率偏移估計與細胞辨識碼偵測,在論文中提出利用PSS兩階段偵測整數載波頻率飄移與扇區識別的方法;追蹤迴路包括殘餘載波頻率飄移與取樣時脈偏移的聯合估計。在資料回復除了使用傳統的VBLAST架構之外,本論文提出了M&M List-based MIMO detection架構,其具有低複雜度與高效能的表現。資料回復的結果會送入外接收機以得到傳輸位元流的解碼結果。 除了接收機的架構設計之外,在論文中也提出了接收機個功能方塊的硬體電路設計,使用NC-verilog與FPGA做功能驗證。在測試資料方面,本論文以實時系統印證了所設計的基頻接收機架構的可實現性。

In this thesis, we propose a subscriber station physical layer receiver architecture for 3GPP LTE Standard. The inner receiver can be divided into three parts: intitial synchronization, tracking loop and data recovery. The intitial synchronization includes coarse and fine symbol boundary estimation, integer and franctional carrier frequency offset estimation and cell identification. A low complexity two stage integer carrier frequency offset and sector ID detection method is introduced. The tracking loop includes joint estimation of residual carrier frequency offset and sampling clock offset. In data recovery, in addition to use tranditional VBLAST architecture, Marginalized and Merged List-Based MIMO detection is proposed. The performance of M&M List-Based MIMO detection can be close to that of optimal ML detection with acceptable complexity. The data recovery results are sent to outer receiver to calculate the detected bit stream for transmitited data. In addition to architecture design of receiver, the circuit design of functional blocks which have been verified with NC-verilog and FPGA board are also presented. Finally, we use real time system to verify the feasibility of the proposed baseband receiver architecture.
