The thesis is about the application of composite right/left-handed transmission lines (CRLH TL). The right-handed (RH) response is included in the design of broadband quadrature power splitter. Both CRLH and RH transmission lines will be implemented by lump elements on the low temperature co-fired ceramic, (LTCC) process. We will realize desired lump element and its parasitic element simulaneously by adjusting its layout in LTCC process. A broadband balanced CRLH TL can be implemented using these lump elements. Finally, we will apply the design technique to realize a broadband quadrature power splitter (QPS) with phase error in and ±0.5dB amplitude mismatch from 2GHz to 4.2GHz.
