Coulomb stress changes had been discussed broadly for understanding the earthquake interaction. Most successful studies were focused on the strike-slip fault system, such as San Andreas fault and north Anatolian fault. Comparing to the strike-slip fault, the complexity of thrust fault system is that the coulomb stress transfer varies with the depth and leads more uncertainty of subsurface structures to calculate the stress transfer. In this study we focused on a creeping Chihshang fault with the creeping rate of about 2-3 cm/yr, which ruptured on December 12, 2003 by Mw 6.5 Chenkung earthquake in eastern Taiwan. We calculated the coulomb stress change with different type of reciver fault in order to figure out how the background seismicity rate along the locked and crreping zone does influence the coulomb stress change. Futhermore, we want to discuss the fault interaction where April 1, 2006 Mw 6.4 Taitung earthquake which stress increasement probably imparted by the 2003 Chenkung earthquake.
