Shell structure of classical Coulomb gas in an inverse-square centrifugal potential

摘要


我們研究一個古典三維的單種類庫侖氣體模型之結構,其中電子受到一外加位能 U(r) = 1/2r^2 – Z/r 之限制。我們利用分子動力(MD)電腦程式模擬研究殼層及殼層內結構的形成,提出理論分析該結構形成之條件並與實驗結果比對。

We study a spherical one-component plasma (SOCP) of electrons in a dimensionless confining potential U(r)=1/2r^2-Z/r in the zero-temperature limit. We explore the formation of shell structures and spherical lattices using molecular-dynamics simulations. A theoretical analysis of the mechanism of shell formation and lattice structures is also presented.
