Due to the narrow lands and numerous people in Taiwan, it becomes necessary to open up the mountain slopes, and it also causes many times of floods and droughts in Taiwan. How to use and manage the lands reasonably will be very essential in the policy about development in the future. The thesis is the related experiments of Infiltration with the different use of farm, such as dry farmlands, paddy fields, grasslands and the uncovered lands. Because farmlands are mostly unsaturated, the movement of the soil water is very complicated. The study is on the basis of determinations of the hydraulic conductivity and to proceed the on-site and internal experiments aimed at the correlation between different depths, weight water contents and porosity. From the results of the initial stage on this study, we hope to probe into the different infiltration conditions, and provide consultations in making some important hydraulic parameters and be helpful for the land-use classification and management of farm for the future.
