Open cavities are commonly used in gyrotrons and gyroklystron for the extraction of EM field from electron beam. The lack of well-defined geometrical boundary cause the distinctive features that is basically different from closed cavity. We introduce the time and frequency domain models and declare the numerical algorithm and the boundary condition. The relation of quality factor in different domain models is explained. We introduce max-field spectrum, field-energy spectrum and reflection spectrum which are the tree kinds spectrum of frequency domain. By changing the tapered angle of open cavity, we explain the difference of resonant of resonant frequency and quality factor. Finally, using software package calculate the reflection coefficient, and compare differences in calculation results obtained from programs.
