台灣金融業區域化策略───以中華開發為例

摘要


自2000年以後,台灣金融業由於市場過度擁擠,經營不易,因此走向國際化以提高利基之呼聲不斷。本論文以開發金控的區域化策略為研究主題,探討其組織重整後所提出之雙核心策略,亦即以上海、新加坡為區域性的雙地理核心,開展海外業務。論文中建議以證券開發海外客戶先行,槓桿運用開發資本之資產管理規模以及凱基銀行之充沛資金,做為以雙資金主動出擊的「雙引擎」,用動態策略取代原有之雙核心之靜態地理佈局,應更能發揮開發金控打亞洲盃之綜效。本論文以亞洲區域性銀行如星展銀行發展之成功案例,提出「雙引擎」策略,由凱基證券長期深耕海外市場,擁有眾多分行之優勢作為開發海外業務之起點,佐以開發資本及凱基銀行之資金雙引擎動能,有別於傳統本土銀行增設分行,並以服務東南亞市場台商的單引擎作法,雖類似於星展銀行的銀行及基金管理模式,更以其獨特的券商優勢引領海外業務之作法,其雙引擎策略應可引發三合一綜效,在亞洲市場發揮其獨特的比較優勢。

Due to Taiwan's over-banking market after 2000, most financial institutions have been seeking for business opportunity overseas. This paper examines China Development Financial Holding (CDFH) regionalization strategy by using Shanghai and Singapore as geographic bases to develop business in China and South East Asia. However, the strategy did not fully utilize CDFH's abundant resources including KGI Bank and CDIB Capital Group as one of the key sources for regionalization strategy. The contribution of this paper is to provide an alternative strategy for CDFH, including to leverage KGI Securities’ existing customers (KGI Securities currently has more than 30 branches overseas). With KGI Securities as a steering wheel to explore potential clients, KGI bank and CDIB Capital Group as the double engines for capital resources, the strategy proposed by this study is trying to establish attractiveness for customers and increase CDFH's market competitiveness in the overseas market. On the other hand, this study also uses Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) as a case study for successful regional bank and with an aim to find a sustainable business model for Taiwan's local banks' overseas expansion strategy.
