醯肼衍生物之液晶分子:合成與液晶性質

摘要


我們利用合成出來的醯肼衍生物,加上帶有醛基同時具有不同碳數與 鏈數的化合物進行縮合反應,製備出液晶分子。隨著設計結構上的不同,所產生的性質也會有所差異,不管是液晶性質的有無,或是溫度的範圍都會有所明顯區別。 首先,利用核磁共振光譜對於分子的結構做初步的鑑定,之後用元素分析來判斷出化合物正確的結構與純度。對於液晶性質的探討,會先用偏光顯微鏡對於化合物的液晶相範圍以及可能的種類先加以推測。更近一步的探討,熱差掃描卡計可以更加精確的定出溫度範圍和熱焓值,最後再用變溫粉末繞射定出化合物的排列方式。我們做出了幾個系列的液晶分子,並從得到的結論對所設計的分子加以討論。結果顯示,化合物3Cn-salhz ( n = 10, 12, 14, 16 ) 具有columnar hexagonal phase.而2Cn- salhz 則是columnar lamellar phase。1Cn- salhz ( n = 10, 12, 14, 16 ),則是smectic phase.化合物,2Cn-dhz ( n = 10, 12 )不具有液晶相。說明了氫鍵與π- π stacking 對於分子形成液晶相扮演著重要角色。

A new liquid-crystalline based on oxalyl dihydrazide derivatives were synthesis by condensation of oxalyl dihydrazide and aldehyde . Molecules with different alkyl chain and carbon number, their physical property have obvious difference. Not only alkyl chain ,but also molecules interaction may affect on mesomorph. Use the functional group and aromatic ring to enhance molecules π- π stacking or hydrogen bonding can increase structure stability. Characterized molecules structure and purity of these compound by NMR spectroscopy, polarized optical microscope ( POM ), differential scanning calorimetry ( DSC ), and powder x-ray diffraction. A series of 3Cn-salhz ( n = 10, 12, 14, 16 ) exhibit columnar hexagonal phase. Compound 2Cn- salhz ( n = 10, 12, 14, 16 ) exhibit columnar lamellar phase .1Cn- salhz ( n = 10, 12, 14, 16 ) exhibit smectic phase. 2Cn-dhz doesn`t have any mesophase. Hydrogen bonding and π- π stacking play an important role in series of compound liquid crystal phase.
