建築中的時間意涵

歷經歲月的舊建築所擁有的特殊氛圍，是建築在時間的過程中逐漸累積而成的變化，使我了解到建築並不會完成於完工那天，而是隨著時間持續成長。本論文透過探索體驗在都市中的老舊建物與廢棄空間，討論建築與時間之間緊密而複雜的關係，並試圖捕捉空間中的時間意義，藉都市及建築空間為主題，探討建築中的時間意涵。從都市在時代變遷，持續拆換再造的狀態中，日新月異的科技、材料、工法、風格等…新舊建物形成了強烈的對比，感受到文明及思想隨著時間而演進。而舊建物在都市中所擁有代表時代的價值與意義，以及伴隨著時光在物理環境中所積累的空間成長，其中有著建築材料的敗壞與植物的滋長；使用者與空間接觸的痕跡。並且在人類的介入之後，對空間產生的情感、記憶甚至歷史及文化等都將隨著時間附於空間之中。那些在過程中不斷演變並互相影響的元素，附加了人類的情感與思想，成為建築中的時間概念。本論文以時間概念的觀點切入設計操作，以都市中的廢棄空間及歷史建物做為對象，探討舊建築在都市中所扮演的角色，及空間隨時間變動的考量下，材料安排、情境轉換及建築計畫的設定，並且理解掌握著這些變動的元素不只是為了期待空間未來的發展，同時也在時間特質下無可預期的變化中，感受到建築空間的時間意義。

The changing of architecture through time provided specify atmosphere, thus I realized the architecture would continue to grow at the day it lies on site. This thesis observes the old and abandoned buildings hidden inside city. While discuss intense and complex relationship between architecture and time, with urban environment and architectural space as themes, in order to capture the meaning of time in space. When time goes by, under rapid demolishing and re-building, with drastic improved technology, materials, building methods and aesthetic styles, the old and new building has great contrast through time. Then they have their own value and meaning in the city. In the physical environment, the space grows in time; physically changing architecture is disintegration of building materials, plant growth, and vestige of user’s touch. When people interfere, there is emotional interference, memory, history and culture therefore adhere in the space. These elements continue to influence each other through the process, and become the time concept of architecture. This thesis uses time as design concept, to take abandon spaces and historical buildings in urban environment as study subject, in order to define their roles in the city, and observe space continuing changing through time. Then to understand the changing elements are not just its future development, there are some unexpected characteristic, as the architecture space and its meaning of time.
