摘要

班加曼•貢斯當（Benjamin Constant，1767-1830）的作品《阿道爾夫》（Adolphe），完成於一八○六年，並於一八一六年出版。以簡潔扼要的敘述風格和筆法，獨特的創作角度與藝術表現手法，在法國文學史上占有一席之地。
《阿道爾夫》透過書信體特有的敘事結構，細膩地描寫小說中人物感情與欲望的細微變化。另以敘事者全知觀點，帶領讀者進入小說中兩位主要人物的內心世界，不僅瞭解故事進程（progression de l’action et du récit），更可理解小說人物行動結果其背後的緣由。
本論文即透過敘述學的形式分析，從敘事觀點、人物類型、敘述時間、空間結構等方向，以小說《阿道爾夫》為例，探討書信體小說特徵；並透過小說主題，對小說內容產生之問題，進一步提出討論。

Finished in 1806, then published in 1816, Adolphe, Benjamin Constant’s work, deserved a place in French literature by its narrative brevity in technique of writing, particular creation and artistic performance.

B. Constant described carefully the characters’ feelings and their heart’s desire by the specific narrative frame in epistolary novel. Readers can also easily get into the two characters’ inner world with the omniscient focalization. They will understand not only the progression of storytelling and of description, but also the reasons behind the personages’ motivation.

The dissertation was exactly analyzed by the narrative structure：the focalization, the personage, the duration, the mode, etc. By the example of Adolphe, the researcher treats of the characteristics of epistolary novel；and further, the writer discusses the problems about the context.
