Creating Thermal Diffusion in Immersive Experience

摘要


我們開發出一套於沉浸式環境中創造溫度擴散之體驗,透過兩種以上複合式觸覺回饋來創造出一種全新的觸覺回饋,讓使用者不用有實際上溫度變化卻有溫度變化之感受,再結合沉浸式虛擬實境之體驗增強使用者對於觸覺的感受,提供使用者更深刻的環境體驗。在本篇論文我們有針對溫度擴散可能形成的原因進行推論,並且透過四種不同的實驗來知道我們的裝置能提供使用者更完整與穩定的體驗與其限制。

Applying haptic feedback to virtual reality (VR) is a well-known technique to enhance the immersive experience. However,the area of tactile stimulation is limited by the hardware configuration.In this paper,we present Energy Bracer,an expanding thermal sensation wearable device which utilize thermal stimulation and electrical skin stimulation to create illusion tactile.By mutual interaction between thermal and electrical stimuli on forearm, the users can perceive thermal sensation with less thermal stimulator.Therefore,we can propagate thermal stimulus without contact with the thermal stimulator.
