This study focused on the analysis of texts concerning the male heroes’ images in Hollywood movies about World War Two, based on the three war movies: "Sands of Iwo Jima", "Flags of Our Fathers", "Letters from Iwo Jima.” This study, based on the linkage between movies and contemporary culture and society, presented the different points of view about the ideology of nations, wars, and heroes from different times, and different cultures in Hollywood movies about World War II. This study found out that the points of view about nations, national flags, and wars, as well as different ideology have resulted in the different concepts about nationalism and thus have caused the multiple-hero images. The stereotyped hero images established in the movies in the early times have changed recently. Motivations were given to the efforts behind the hero images, which made heroic deeds more reasonable, hero images more multiple. Hero images not only exist in the battlefields, but also in the responsibility for and contribution to the families and comrades. In the texts of the popular culture in movies, recent war movies have disassembled hero images; on the other hand, they have reestablished more humanlike war hero images as well.
