「把銀行變大」、「基層金融或小型銀行應被合併或改制?」是正確的嗎?本研究以深度訪談及結構式訪談,並以MERSI理論進行研究者個人診斷,探討在金融機構邁向大型化的趨勢下,信合社存在之利基或模式為何?及以淡水一信為例,探討其存在之利基或模式及經營成功之因素?、何以其能稱霸淡水地區之金融機構及在全國信合社中表現相對傑出?研究發現信用合作社存在之利基為:(1)充分發揮信合社的特色;(2)善用地緣之優勢;(3)認清自己的實力,安分不貪婪,在穩定中求成長;(4)卓越的領導人;(5)嚴格內控。此外,本研究建議,認識與充分利用信合社的特色,並忠實地執行其規範,是其成功的關鍵,它並不是一個落伍過時的制度,若業者趕時髦,急於轉型為商業銀行,反而不見得有優勢與利基,在當前金融大環境中,體認信合社的價值定位,確實地執行,業者仍有一席之地。
Is it correct to “enlarge the size of banks”? Is it a right thing that small-scale financial institutes and banks are supposed to be merged or to make some changes? Via in-depth interviews and structured interviews, this research deals with what the niche or mode of the existence of credit cooperative banks under the trend that financial institutes attempt to enlarge their size. What is more, the researcher employed MERSI theory to analyze these issues. Take the Tamshui First Credit Cooperative Bank for example in order to talk about the factors which exist in a niche or mode and play important roles in successful administration. Why can the Tamshui First Credit Cooperative Bank stand out from financial Institutions in both Danshui Area and in the nation? The findings show the niche of the credit cooperative banks contains 1) completely expressing features of credit cooperative banks, 2) taking advantage of territorial adjacency, 3) understanding self-capability and never stopping growing, 4) requiring an outstanding leader, 5) and promoting the efficiency of internal control. What is more, the researcher suggested that knowing and completely taking advantage of the features of credit cooperative banks and fulfilling the norms are ingredients for success. The credit cooperative bank is not a system which is out of fashion. However, it does not necessarily have advantages or niches to strive for transform to a cooperative bank. Credit cooperative banks are still competitive in the current big environment of finance if they can be aware of value proposition of themselves and keep on being diligent in the performance of their mission.
