本研究以國內產物保險業具規模的個案公司之內部營業單位為對象,選取92至95年之微觀資料,以資料包絡分析法探討個案公司不同營業單位之效率與生產力情況,俾供國內同業之決策參考。主要實證結果有以下數端,首先,在樣本期間,東區營業單位之技術效率相對最高,高屏地區次之。技術效率最不佳的兩區域為北二區及南區,其無效率組成要素相同,皆源自於純粹技術效率不佳所致,故有共同之改善著力點。其次,就總要素生產力變動及其成因之分析結果方面,各區皆呈現總要素生產力變動衰退趨勢,而衰退之來源主要為技術退步,使得生產邊界下降。綜合而言,相對於過去以產業保險產業層次分析之文獻,本研究以個案公司內部營業單位微觀層次資料進行分析之資訊,或能提供更攸關的資訊予企業的管理階層進行決策之用。
This paper is to choose the internal business units under top rated property-liability insurance company as objective, select 2003 to 2006 as study period, and employee “Multi-Stage Data Envelopment Analysis “ to discuss the efficiency as well as productivity condition of different business units under our target company. The empirical results are as follows: First of all, during the sample period, the best performer of the “technical efficiency performance” is “Eastern” business unit, followed by “Kaohsiung & Pingtung”. The relatively worse performance districts are “Northern two” and “Southern” districts which resulted from dissimilar inefficiency reasons, “purely technical inefficiency”. Even that, there’s still have same points to improve for each district. Secondly, if we focus on the “changes of total factor productivity” and its sources, we will observe there is a downward sloping trend for each districts. The main reason is from technical declining, and to make productive margin descending. All in all, comparing to past papers which focus mainly on the industry hierarchy of property insurance companies, we perform further micro analysis, or detail-oriented, and focus on the internal business units with the purpose of providing additional relevant information for managers’ better strategy making reference.
