In this study, we applied a mechanism of the “idea market” to generate and evaluate innovative Ideas. The theme of the research project called “why graduate school” took graduate and undergraduate students in the department of Industrial Economics at Tamkang University as a case study. We tried to apply the idea market mechanism to educational services. In the end of the project, we used questionnaire method to investigate the effectiveness of the market mechanism. The results of our idea market show the potential application in educational services. The proposed ideas help us to know the thinking about the graduate schools and the future development ideas. The participants in the project give us positive feedbacks in the perspectives of market openness, innovation, diversity and efficiency. Compared to the voting mechanism, participants suggest that the idea market mechanism is more useful, effective and free than voting mechanism.
