The population of our study was to students in one of university in Taichung with excluding students of nutrition’s major. The aim of study was to understand the relationship among consumption of sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB), emotion and nutrition intake in university students. The content of questionnaire included: A. Student’s profile and habit of drinking SSB, B. Adult Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) self-report scale (ASRS), C. The depression scale publised by John Tung foundation, D. State-trait anxiety inventory (STAI), and E. The 24 hours dietary recall and record of drinks for 3 consecutive days. The results showed that male students have more amount and frequency of SSB intake as compared with female students. The degree of sweet preference was related to the score of attention deficit and hyperactivity of students. The BMI was also found to have significant relationship with depression tendency, sweet preference and amount of SSB comsumption. Students who consumed more than 360 ml of SSB per day had significantly higher intake of bean, fish, meat and egg, macro nutrition and total calorie who consumed less amount. Students who consumed SSB everyday had significantly higher intake of macro nutrition and total calorie than others. We concluded that the consumption of SSB may have correlation with emotion and intake of nutrients in university population. We suggested that decreasing in SSB consumption and balance of nutrients intake should be the important focus in nutrition education to university student.
