本文主要研究Non-Practicing Entity,稱作專利授權公司或非製造型公司,理解其背景與手段,以InterDigital為個案公司研究標的,探討InterDigital公司美國地區獲證專利技術領域重點所在,並以內部專利自我引證關係結合社會網絡分析InterDigital公司內部專利的發展狀況。社會網絡分析(Social Network Analysis, SNA),為一種鑑定訊息或溝通結構的系統性方法,應用在專利領域上以節點表示一篇專利,其專利之間的連結則以專利引用關係為連結,以各項社會網絡分析指標解釋圖表數據,並形成一技術網絡圖輔助說明。並藉由日本F-trem之觀點建構技術功效矩陣研究LTE 4G專利概況與台灣布局情況。研究結果顯示InterDigital以五大特徵:專利特別集中在特定公司,技術領域特別集中於「H部-電學」,技術獨立性相當高,善用分割案、延續案、部分延續案之申請策略,LTE 4G專利特別集中於「5K067-Mobile radio communication systems」行動無線通訊系統技術領域。
This paper studied the InterDigital, one of the Non-Practicing Entity companies. The object of this study was to collect US granted and application patents of InterDigital and then analyzed the patent portfolio. Finally, use social network analysis to discuss the internal patent. Originally, social network analysis was the systematic approach for identification message or communication structure. The social network analysis could apply to analyse patent. Each patent represented a node, and the link between patents could be explained through citation relationship. Generate patent map and combine with technology network diagram could see inside intelligence of InterDigital. These management tools could achieve more in-depth intelligence. This study results showed that InterDigital's main development was concentrated on CDMA and derived a lot of related technologies.
