企業領導者的靈性修練對永續發展影響之初探

A Preliminary Study on How the Spiritual Discipline of Enterprise Leaders Influences Sustainable Development

摘要


眾所周知,永續發展已是現今我們人類亟需面對的議題,由於企業在永續發展的議題上扮演著關鍵角色,並且被相信有賦予其重任的能力,而諸多研究指出企業領導者的靈性修練與永續發展有著密不可分的關連,因此本研究旨在探討我國企業領導者之靈性修練,對永續發展之可能影響。 本研究是以2009年天下雜誌公布之1000大企業中的300大製造業、150大的服務業以及50大的金融業之各階企業主管為研究對象,藉由問卷調查,瞭解台灣企業領導者在本研究中的研究變項:永續認知、永續行動、靈性修練和靈性領導其現況程度,並透過SPSS統計軟體進行分析,瞭解不同背景變項對於研究變項之可能顯著差異性,以及研究變項之間的相關性。 根據問卷分析結果,本研究認為企業的領導者,尤其擔任之職務其權責越重大者,在推動永續發展上所扮演的角色,確實更具影響力也是關鍵。而公司企業領導者的永續認知程度,並未與公司營業額的多寡存在顯著相關。目前企業領導者的永續行動仍較著重在國際間一般被要求或是廣泛訴求之項目,包含:尊重法律的規範、確保合乎道德之行為以及尊重並保障利害關係人的權益,但這可能導致其他有助於永續發展之行動因而被忽視或不被落實。企業領導者當面對不確定性提高時,在靈性修練和靈性領導兩研究變項上的程度會增強,並且企業領導者的靈性修練程度與靈性領導程度兩者呈現高度相關。

It is well known that sustainable development is a main subject people nowadays really need to take into account. Enterprises play an important role in sustainable development, and it’s believed that they can be entrusted with this mission. According to literatures, the sustainable development is closely related to the spiritual discipline of the leaders in enterprises. Therefore, the main goal of this research is to probe how the spiritual discipline of the enterprise leaders in our country possibly affects the sustainable development. The subjects of this research are in the management level including various positions among the top 300 manufacturers, the top 150 service enterprises as well as the top 50 financial enterprises, which are chosen from Taiwan’s top 1000 enterprises according to the CommonWealth Magazine’s 2009 survey. By means of the questionnaire survey, we can understand better the research variables of the enterprise leaders in Taiwan; they are sustainable cognition, sustainable actions, spiritual discipline, and spiritual leading. Through the analysis of the SPSS statistics software, we can also get an idea on how different background variables affect the research variables and how the research variables are relevant to each other. According to the analysis from this questionnaire, it’s assumed that enterprise leaders, espeicially those in higher positions, indeed play a crucial role in promoting sustainable development. However, the degree of leaders’ cognition on sustainable development is not apparently related to the revenues of their enterprises. At present, the enterprise leaders’ substainable actions are still mainly based on those generally or widerspreadly demanded among the nations, including compliance, taking moral actions, and guarding the rights of stakeholders involved, which, however, may result in the possibility that people neglect other substainable actions. In this research, it’s also revealed that enterprise leaders may pay more attention to the spiritual discipline and spiritual leading when they’re faced with more uncertainty, and the degree of leaders’ spiritual discipline is highly relevant to the degree of their spiritual leadership.
