Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions are important industry related environmental problems recognized in recent years. VOC thermal oxidation has been recognized as a proven technique of VOC abatement by the industry and environmental authorities. Enforcement of new and strictier emission rules and regulations, appearing of new types of VOC emissions along with the new process technologies, the necessity to minimize CO2 and heat emissions to the environment, and the soaring prices of energy and material costs necessitates the serious consideration of continual improvement of RTO optimization and technology. This thesis introduces and presents Concepts & theories, technical reviews & analysis, and computer based dynamic simulation programs for effective and efficient dealings with design, performance analysis, optimization, operation & control, and economics analysis of thermal regeneration and oxidation on industrial VOC abatement. Overall, this thesis effectively contributes for the enhancement of RTO thchnology and application.
