This thesis is focused on power saving of mobile phone. According to the analysis on power dissipation of mobile phone , In general, the power of mobile phone is mostly consumed on the power amplifier, processor, and LCD backlight. The LCD backlight is produced by light emitting diodes. The power amplifier consumes low power when the user is not talking, and the LCD backlight consumes low power when the screen is turns off. With the advance of mobile technology, the mobile phone is not just a tool for remote-talking. Most of the users use the mobile phone to do things that they used to do on a personal computer. That is, the screen of phone still works even when the user is not talking using his mobile phone. The power saving of LCD backlight therefore becomes an important issue. I have improved efficiency and reduced power dissipation by DCDC boost converter and SW optimization. And I use three mobile phone usage conditions and with battery usage to do the analysis to know the power saving result. The experimental results show that the performance of mobile phone backlight is improved and the operation time of mobile phones is increased.
