摘要

以往關聯式資料庫之設計,有許多不同的作法,但都面臨到某些問題.而本
篇論文旨在設計一結構化文件資料庫.此設計與現在設計之差異在於使用
物件關聯式資料模型,這種模型的優點在於簡單易用而且能提供階層性資
料結構.基於SGML文件元素與物件的相關性,本研究提出由SGML文件結構轉
換成資料庫結構之方法論.透過此方法論,文件庫可依文件種類的增加而自
動擴增資料庫的結構.而所設計之結構化文件資料庫,較關聯式資料庫之設
計,具有資料結構簡單與查詢效率佳的優點.且透過物件關聯式資料庫之資
料模型,將易於與一般資訊系統整合.另外,在文件資料庫之查詢中,傳統資
料庫查詢語言已不能滿足使用者對於文件資料庫查詢之需求,如使用者必
須完全瞭解資料庫之結構才能下達正確之查詢指令,所使用的查詢操作方
式與文件結構不相容,且僅提供簡單的字元對應查詢等.本研究利用階層性
文件結構查詢路徑的觀念,使用者可以在不瞭解文件之結構下,輕易的查詢
文件資料庫內容,並執行大量文件內容搜尋之工作.且利用文件本身階層性
之結構,使用者可以以更直覺的方式下達查詢之指令.在文件瀏覽介面中,
系統可依據資料庫中文件結構而允許使用者巡航及找尋文件內容,且文件
瀏覽介面可與文件查詢語言整合成整體文件查詢環境,查詢者可同時使用
整體查詢與個體查詢兩種模式,進行文件之內容或結構之查詢,將有助於提
伸文件資料庫之查詢能力.

The objective of this paper is to design a structured document
database. The differences of this design and others are theusing
of object-relational data model. This model not only iseasy to
use but also provide the hierarchical data structure.Due to the
simlarity between SGML elements and objects, the methodology to
transfer SGML document structure to databasestructure is
proposed. Furthermore, since the traditional database query
language can not satisfy the requirement for the query of
document database, the document query languagethat based on the
query operation of hierarchical documentstructure is developed.
This language integrates with documentbrowsing interface for
global document query environmentm andimproves the functionality
and convience of document databasequery.
