Fuel cell is an electrochemical device that transforms chemical energy of the fuel used to electricity at high efficiency without burning. The durability of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) is a major barrier to the commercialization of these systems. The aim of this study is to apply electrochemical analyses to investigate the effect of humidity of the fuel gas (hydrogen) on the performance of PEMFC. The humidity of the oxidant gas (oxygen) will be fixed throughout this study. Techniques used to characterize single cell performance include Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), polarization curve, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), X-ray diffraction (XRD). Based on results obtained, degradation mechanisms will be discussed and proposed.
