專利評估及商品化策略之整合模型

摘要


如何在專利商品化成功之前,先進行專利的價值評估,至今在學理上及實務上仍是一個未被解決的問題。依據學者研究,影響專利價值的因子甚多,例如:引證次數、專利數、技術趨勢、市場需求及競爭者專利數等,然而這些要素並未能被用來進行商品化前的評估。爰此,吾人結合多變量分析及技術組合規劃等方法,提出一個嶄新的混合模型,並利用元智及工研院個案證明此一混合模型之實用性。研究結果顯示,吾人可將專利依據得自因子分析的效益及風險尺度,區分成若干價值群組,並依據其群組特性,提出商品化之策略。

The topic for patent value assessment is in the interest of academia and practitioners as well. It is difficult to assess the patent’s value before it is commercialized due to the high level of uncertainty. There are several patent value indicators like number of citations, backward and forward citations, family size, and other external factors as technology trend, market conditions, competitor’s patents in the same field etc. However, these indicators are insufficient in determining patent commercialization potential. In our research we attempt to come up with the method to assess patent’s commercialization value. We provided a novel hybrid method to assess patent’s value and to determine commercialization strategy. Furthermore, we proof the eligibility of the hybrid model with two empirical cases; they are Yuan Ze University and Industrial Technology Research Institute cases. As the result of our analysis, we categorized patents into several groups according to benefits and risk factors that extracted from factor analysis, and to each group of patents we offer possible strategies for commercialization.
