麻將玩家之遊戲資訊處理過程-老手與生手之差異

A Comparative Study on the Information Handling Process between Expert and Novice Mahjong players

摘要


在台灣服務產業越來越重要,而隨著政策的開放博弈產業也被視為下一項明星產業。麻將這個傳統博奕遊戲在政策逐漸開放的背景之下,也就顯得越來越重要。本研究依照麻將遊戲主要的核心概念設計整理一套包含各個主要概念的實驗題目,且以口語分析法中的放聲思考法進行及分析,藉以比較老手與生手在資訊處理上之差異,另外本研究也利用認知科學分析麻將邏輯上的合理性,並在最後討論如何從生手成為老手。   結果發現老手在速度、邏輯的正確性方面皆優於生手。在解題程序的複雜度方面,生手則較老手為複雜;老手在思考時能夠以較精簡的方式進行,反之比較起老手,生手會嘗試以多種不同的方式或錯誤的邏輯來解決問題。另外在記憶力方面從短期的記憶來看兩者並沒有顯著的差別,但在長期以整個牌局來比較記憶力則會發現老手在整體牌局掌握方面的記憶力運用優於生手。

In Taiwan, the service industry is becoming more and more important. The tourism industry has become a star industry here, since the policy opening the casinos business on remote islands was passed. For Chinese people, mahjong is an important part of the culture and a traditional way of gambling. In this research, we followed the core concepts of mahjong to design 11 suitable experiment questions. These questions include some of the core concepts. We adopted think-aloud protocols and analyzed them with an aim of comparing the information handling process between expert and novice mahjong players. The results showed that expert players are better then novice players in speed and logic. In the information handling process, novice players used a more complicated problem solving process then experts. In the experts’ information handling process, they used a very simple system. On the other hand, the novices tried employ many different methods and used flawed logical process to solve problems. For memory ability, these two groups didn’t show striking differences in their short time memory ability, but throughout the whole experiments we can see that the expert players’ performances are better then novice players’.
