摘要
生命從一個『無』的起點前開始！ 生命從一個『無』的終點後結束！ 生命時間以『減法遞減』！ 記憶厚度以『加法累積』！ 死亡是生命斷層中最大切割的力量，將生命的長流切割為一片片的段落記憶，生命逝去就是死亡一直發生的一種堆疊動作，記憶是死亡發生後留下的行動紀錄，人類生命是一種有限時間的倒數計時，人生記錄的形式一直用文字與影像儲存，但是在面對巨大生命死亡哀慟當下，記錄形式已經成為最困難的一種顯示手法，生命逝去存留下的記憶要以怎樣的紀錄形式展現才是最真實？而死亡帶走的五感消逝，記憶剝落稀釋下產生的心理恐慌，都是我創作中探討的元素！ 身為華人女性高度精神壓抑與嚴謹自制的個性本質，不僅誘發我對於記錄形式的私密性探討，與現代科技發展高度的不安全感，引導出生命記錄的切割，與縫入的記錄解讀形式的創作，並以華人在死亡喪禮中的儀式性做展呈方式，例如七個七的殤祭，及三年守喪概念，作為哀悼死亡中深層悲慟展現，及發展出記憶新記錄型態的展現，進而成為藝術創作的起點，就是此次創作的軸心，也是我對於生命無常與無相的省思回饋！

Life comes from “nothing”; ends with “nothing.” As our lifetime gradually decreases, our memories gradually increase. Death is the most powerful force that cuts the stream of life into bits and pieces of memories. The loss of life is a repeated action carried out by Death, leading to the stacking and restacking of memories; the active documenting of life. We live our lives in a countdown with limited time, and the way we record it is through our words and images. However, under the unimaginable grief and sorrow brought about by Death, methods of documenting the lost life no longer serve their maximum function. How do we realistically preserve and present the memories of the life lost? The loss of the five senses, along with the fear and panic caused by Death are all aspects addressed in my work. As an Asian woman with high levels of stress, self-constraint, and living in a modern and technologically developed society, I am intrigued by methods to successfully document and record secretively. Hence, I have developed ways to document the separation of life and death, as well as to record feelings through sewing. The artwork is presented in forms resembling the various rituals carried out in Chinese funerals: the 7 memorial ceremonies performed in 49 days to remember the dead, and the 3 years of mourning. These methods symbolize the deep sorrow and sadness resulting from death, and present new ways of documenting our memories. Thus is the origin and purpose of my work, which also serves as my reflection on the uncertainty of life!
