摘要


《呼拉姐妹花》是一部關於「女性成長」的故事。 一個經常被家暴的清潔婦,如何透過呼拉舞比賽找回幸福的生命故事。故事描寫失去夢想、為了維持一個假象的完整家庭,忍受丈夫因為賭博而施暴的中年婦女,在現實生活壓迫下,已經把追求夢想的能力失去了!在一次偶然的機會,被陌生人邀請參加呼啦舞比賽,沒想到只想為了兒子的畢業旅行費用,卻在姐妹的幫忙及呼啦舞的感化下,踏上了改變一生的旅程,在比賽前的誤會差一點拆散這三位姐妹,在付出勇氣的追逐夢想行動下,又成為堅強珍惜的好姊妹們,共同揮別人生過去的 陰影不幸,一起找回新的自己及未來。 雖然說著女性成長的故事,但是不只是一個女人的成長,是藉由姐妹好友的情誼,討論團體的成長與毅力,共同經歷英雄旅程,認識自己、改變自己、為自己未來的幸福、努力追求夢想。 本論述一部分敘述與編導共同從女性主義、好萊塢三幕劇結構、神話原型及馬斯洛需求層面來檢視作品,另一方面也從製片創作、工作與合作三個範圍,來檢視本作品風格、美學、前製、製作、後製及行銷過程上的執行與檢討。

"Go! Hula " is a film about ‘Female Awakening’. This is a story about a brave woman, often subjected to domestic violence, and how she found real happiness through her participation of a Hula dance competition. Despite her husband's gambling habit and violent behaviors She insists to stay on with her children. With endless pressure day in day out, she has long lost her desire to chase so many lifetime dreams. Then, she met some friendly dance mates and was invited to join the competition, hoping to win the first prize to pay for her son's graduation trip. With so many help from her best friends as well as the spiritual influence from the Hula dance, she is on her way to a journey that is about to change her life all over. A minor misunderstanding, however, nearly broke up the team, but in the end their courage, perseverance and mutual trust prevailed. They became great partners again and after the competition went on to seek their new self and a brand new future together. A story about female awakening, but it also seeks to explore personal breakthrough from unselfish friendship, group help, perseverance and sharing of individual successes (or hero's journey). This study tries to examine the film itself not only via feminism, three-act structure of Hollywood drama, the mythological archetype, Marslow's hierarchy of needs, it also seeks to assess the execution of film style, aesthetics, pre-production, production, post-production and marketing.
