台灣硯石雕刻研究-以二水螺溪硯為例

摘要

硯台是傳統的文房用具，亦是文人精神的縮影，中國歷代皆產不少著名古硯，相關文獻著作也比比皆是，但鮮少關注台灣硯台的發展，而本文旨在研究台灣硯台雕刻藝術，並以較具代表性的彰化縣二水螺溪硯為例。包括螺溪硯的稱名與歷史、造型製作、產業發展，分別從螺溪硯的定位談起，觸及其它石材特性作比較，並紀錄其製作流程、運用之技法、題材表現等，最後從整個歷史與環境演變去探討螺溪硯產業發展的概況。
從文獻資料與實地訪談可了解到螺溪硯因社會變遷而陷入困境，為適應環境而逐漸發展出一套生存模式，並可發現其從撿石到製硯完成而消費運用，其表現手法與中國古硯有別，從在地化與鄉土情感的融入、專業與業餘硯雕工作者的競合、成立硯雕地方組織等面向切入，螺溪硯在台灣自有一完整的產業系統，與其它工藝產業相比，具有獨特性與高鑑別度，是為值得被研究的所在。
最後根據研究結果，本文提出具體的建議，以供後續相關研究者之參考，並期許能推廣台灣「硯雕」特有文化，使更多人能了解螺溪硯於現代社會中存在的價值與重要性。

The ink stone, a traditional stationary accessory, is often regarded as miniature of literary intellectuals’ spirit. Quite a number of famous ancient ink stones were produced in almost every Chinese dynasty. Although relevant literary works are abundant, few of them are concerned with the development of Taiwan's ink stone. This study, taking the relatively representative Luoxi ink stone from Ershuei, Changhua County as example, aims to explore Taiwan’s ink stones in terms of their carving art, including the name, history, molding, production and industrial development. Starting with the positioning of Luoxi Ink Stone, this study covers its comparison with other stones’ material features, production process, techniques of use, subject matter, expression and so on. On this basis, the study strives to obtain a whole picture of Luoxi Ink Stone’s industrial development in the context of historical and environmental evolution.
According to the data from literature and field interviews, Luoxi Ink Stone was once stuck in trouble due to social changes; to adapt to the environment, it has developed over time a new survival mode ever since in order to adapt to the environment; in addition, the process from a raw stone to a finished product and then a consumer good, is quite different from the ancient Chinese ink stones. It has developed its own system from its absorption of local colors, the competition and cooperation between professional and amateur carving workers and establishment of local ink stone carving organizations, which is unique and distinctive from other craft industries. Therefore it is well worth studying.
Based on the study results, this study presents some suggestions for the subsequent reference of related researchers, and also for the promotion of Taiwan's ink stone carving as a distinctive culture, hoping that more people will understand the significance of Luoxi Ink Stone in modern society.
