1918(民國7)年臺陽礦業株式會社於菁桐坑設置石底礦場,改變地區原有的農村風貌,逐漸發展成為大規模的礦業聚落,1988(民國77)年石底礦區結束停採,菁桐坑聚落隨著產業的衰退、人口的流失而逐漸沒落;1994(民國83)年行政院文化建設委員會開始推動社區總體營造之政策,成為地區再發展契機,菁桐坑於2000(民國89)年落實社區總體營造,促成地方自發性的再造行動,至2005(民國94)年,受到整體環境政策影響下,透過商圈輔導計畫以強化社區意識與延續地方居民熱忱,為地區帶來永續發展。 煤礦業曾經為臺灣重要能源產業,其產業之興衰對部分地方帶來極為明顯的變遷影響。本研究首先針對臺灣礦業的整體發展做一整理與回顧,進而以研究範圍平溪鄉之發展歷程試圖做為礦業與聚落發展之主軸架構,進一步以菁桐坑煤礦聚落做為研究對象,深入探討其發展過程與特徵,最後試圖以前述煤礦業對菁桐坑聚落發展之各項影響,建構礦業聚落發展與空間結構之脈絡關係。

Coal mining industry has an important energy industry in Taiwan, the industry has brought prosperity to some changes in the local impact. In this study first describes the historical development of the mining industry in Taiwan, and then with a major focus on the village development of Pingshi coal industry. Study Jingtong mine settlement as research objects, and features of the development process. Finally, try to above the coal mining industry on the impact of the development of Jingtong settlement, construction of mining development and space structure of the settlement context of relationships.
