本論文主旨為:(一)摘譯Global Warming: Myth or Reality《全球暖化:迷思還是事實》一書,提供書中關於全球暖化與氣候變遷等重要資訊及概念給感興趣的讀者們;(二)分析翻譯過程中所採用的翻譯技巧,以達到「服務讀者」之目的。本論文著重於以「目的論」為出發點,以讀者為中心,極力避免翻譯腔現象,以期達到最自然、通順的譯文。本論文共分為六章。第一章說明本論文之研究動機與研究目的。第二章為研究方法。第三章為作者與原著簡介。第四章為譯文文本。第五章除了分析翻譯過程之外,更解釋此次翻譯工作所採用的翻譯技巧之例句。第六章為結論。
This thesis is aimed at two goals: one is to provide the important information and concepts about global warming and climate change translated from Global Warming: Myth or Reality, and the other is to discuss translation skills applied during the translation process under “readers-oriented” principle. This thesis is written on the basis of Skopos theory and readers-centered principle for providing the most fluent and translationese-free translated text. This thesis contains six chapters. Chapter One introduces the motive and the purpose for this thesis. Chapter Two talks about the methodology. Chapter Three briefly introduces the author and the content of Global Warming: Myth or Reality. Chapter Four is the translated text of the source book. Chapter Five analyzes the translation process and also illustrates translation skills used during the process with the examples provided. The final chapter is the conclusion.
