從專利資料分析薄膜電晶體液晶顯示器TFT-LCD與獲利能力關係之研究－以台灣面板廠為例

摘要

「兩兆雙星」是我國在21世紀初期高科技產業的最大推動力，其中的一兆－影像顯示器為21世紀最耀眼－產值、投資額及人才需求最大的一個項目。台灣不論是在供應鏈、垂直整合能力皆佔有一席之地，以後起之姿緊追在韓國、日本之後。
本研究主要是在探討TFT-LCD的專利與獲利能力之關聯性，利用Patent Guide2008與台灣新報資料庫收集2001第二季~2009年第四季的次集資料。專利屬於企業研發投入中的一種知識產出，而專利之所以會受到各界的重視，主要原因係專利牽涉到技術的升級與創新，且可為企業創造財富。近年來許多專利分析大多偏向專利指標的衡量，有別於以往的研究，本研究嘗試利用專利與獲利能力進行分析。
研究結果顯示，對獲利能力之影響程度先後順序為，景氣的高低＞公司別＞專利件數。產業除了會受到景氣循環影響獲利之外，還會受到公司的經營模式、上、中、下游的垂直整合能力，台灣廠商間應做資源的整合，以期互補各廠自己的不足，才能在生產成本控制、規模經濟、產品組合等各方面取得競爭優勢，以利和日本、韓國競爭。

"Two Trillion & Twin Star " is Taiwan high-tech industry the biggest driving force in the 21st century beginning, of which one trillion – image display is the most dazzling in 21st century – output，investment and human resources needs of the largest projects in the IT industry. The supply chain, vertical integration capacity of the place in Taiwan is running after South Korea, Japan.
The study was to explore the TFT-LCD patents and the profitability of the association, using Patent Guide2008 database and the Taiwan Daily News collection of the second quarter of 2001 the second to 2009 fourth quarter data. Patent is a research and development investment in knowledge production, the reason why attention the patent was mainly due to the patent system to upgrade production technology involved and innovation, and create wealth for the enterprise. In recently years, many patents of patent indicators preferred measure, unlike previous studies, and try to use the analysis of patent and profitability.
The results show that the effect on the profitability as the business cycle is higher than difference companies and the number of patents.The industries will be affected by business cycle and the model of company’s Business management. The ability of upper, middle and lower of vertical integration,the companies in Taiwan should do the integration of resources to complement the works of their deficiencies, it could control the production costs, economies of scale, product mix, having competitive with Japan, South Korea.
