近二十年來外派適應相關研究之分析─隱性學術智慧網絡

The Meta-Analysis of Expatriate Adjustment Studies in the Past Two Decades: Its Invisible Network of Knowledge

摘要


全球化、國際化與資訊發達的世界觀中,關於企業人力資源外派的議題越彰顯其重要性。不少學者曾針對外派進行相關研究分析,提供了諸多外派研究的發現與貢獻。為了解外派相關研究之整體發展趨勢,本研究旨在探討1991年至2010年二十年間外派研究的整體趨勢,以隱性學術智慧網絡為主軸,分析國際人力資源管理的領域。本研究從SSCI與SCI國際期刊的資料庫中擷取1991年至2010年二十年之間外派相關研究論文資料,有關外派研究議題的研究文獻為對象,藉由文獻引用之數據,區分為「作者」、「期刊或書籍」與「文章」三大類別,將過去二十年外派研究分別以五年和十年為單位的階段性探討,外派整體趨勢分析。本研究方法採用引文與共引用分析,以「外派適應」作為研究主軸,研究其知識結構。本研究結果發現: 1. 近二十年來(1991-2010)在外派適應之相關研究中,最具影響力的前五名作者,分別為Black、Selmer、Caligiuri、Tung以及Shaffer。 2. 近二十年來(1991-2010)在外派適應之相關研究中,最常被引用的前五種期刊,分別為Journal of International Business Studies、Academy of Management Review、International Journal of Human Resource Management、Human Relations以及Personnel Psychology。 3. 近二十年來(1991-2010)外派適應之相關研究中最常被引最常被引用的文章大部分皆為J. S. Black所發表的文章,且深具影響力。 4. 開頭篇名標籤雲關鍵用語,企業極度重視全球化市場,相關外派(Expatriate)及適應(Adjustment)領域之研究受到重視。 5. 關鍵字標籤雲關鍵用語,除了以拓展全球化商務為要外,2001-2010十年間已開始注重外派人員的適應問題。 6. 網絡圖在於說明作者和期刊書籍的關聯性,本研究發現網絡圖顯示1991-2010二十年間外派適應研究作者和期刊書籍的關聯性越趨強烈,且有逐漸增加的趨勢。 本研究結果顯示,外派適應中各項所帶來的影響,會在企業國際人力資源管理上,產生策略上的趨勢變化。透過學術智慧網絡之探究瞭解外派的趨勢與影響,並提供未來相關研究之重要參考。

With the worldview of globalization, internationalization, and advances in information technology, the topic on international human resources expatriate has been increasing its importance. Based on previous literature, a couple of scholars having done the expatriate research and analysis have provided significant contributions on the related issues. This study aims to examine understand the overall developmental trend of expatriate research within the years of 2001-2010. Retrieved from the SSCI and SCI international journal databases, reference data were divided into three categories ,including “authors”, “journals or books”, as well as “articles” to analyze the overall trend. By using citation and co-citation analyses, this study focused on the specific theme of “expatriate adjustment” to explore its structure of knowledge. Through academic intelligence network, this study provided not only an understanding of the trend and influence on international human resources expatriate but also an essential reference for future research. The results of this study showed that: 1. During the past two decades (1991-2010), the top five influential authors in the Expatriate Adjustment Research were Black, Selmer, Caligiuri, Tung, and Shaffer. 2. During the past two decades (1991-2010), the top five influential journals in the Expatriate Adjustment Research were Journal of International Business Studies, the Academy of Management Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Human Relations, and Personnel Psychology. 3. During the past two decades (1991-2010), most frequently cited articles in Expatriate Adjustment Research were published by J. S. Black. 4. The most two important tag clouds for the key terms of the paper titles are “Expatriate” and “Adjustment” which have attracted the enterprises in the globalized market for the past two decades. 5. Based on the tag clouds for the key terms of the keywords, this study found that the “Adjustment” issue showed more important during the latest decade (2001-2010). 6. Because network diagram illustrates the association of authors and journals/books, this study found that the relationship between the authors and journals/books has been increasingly stronger during the past two decades (1991-2010). The results of the study show that expatriate adjustment has made a great impact on the international human resource management of business enterprises. Through the exploration of invisible network of knowledge, this study has presented a much clearer understanding of the expatriate trend and impact, and provides an important reference for future research.
