變頻脈衝頻寬調變之單電感雙輸出穩壓器

Single Inductor Dual Output DC-DC Converter Using Variable Frequency Pulse Width Modulation Technique

摘要


本論文內容主要是設計一個電感產生兩個輸出電壓的電路 (SIDO),工作於連續導通模式 (CCM)的條件下,在電源管理應用下,其具有改善互穩壓的現象、降低成本等優點。 本論文提出將變頻的脈衝頻寬調變模式控制(Variable frequency of PWM)利用於單電感雙輸出電路設計,即根據負載的不同調整頻率,藉此提高功率容限,使得單位時間內所能做的功率得以提高,並且降低兩輸出間的互穩壓現象,此方法能提高兩輸出端間的區隔,當其中一端輸出的負載改變時,對另一端輸出的影響相對較低,使得在適當的電源管理應用下,能夠完成滿足單晶片系統(System –On –Chip)的應用電路設計。 本論文提出的方法運用單電感雙輸出直流/直流降壓轉換器,並使用台灣積體電路公司三五微米製程模擬與實現,結果顯示電壓可操作範圍為2.7~3.3V,輸出電壓分別為1.2V與1.8V,轉換效率最高可達83%,可應用於單晶片系統。

A single-inductor dual-output (SIDO) step-down DC-DC converter with continuous conduction mode (CCM) operation is proposed to improve efficiency and reduce cost for power management applications. The variable frequency of pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is employed to reduce cross regulation between dual outputs. Through adjusting frequency according to loads, the power and the its margin can be increased. The proposed SIDO converter has been demonstrated with 0.35um CMOS process for a system-on-chip (SoC) design. Besides, the specification of the converter is designed under voltage supply from 2.7V to 3.3V and dual outputs at 1.8V/1.2V.
