日本人在明治維新後,舉目一切朝「近代化」、「西洋化」發展,在新舊融合的過程中產生一種特殊的生活形態:和洋二重生活。和洋二重生活多見於上流階級,其中之一的物質表現就是和家具、洋家具並用的和洋二館並置或和洋混合的大宅邸;殖民地臺灣自然也不例外,日治時期最高統治者總督的居所—總督官邸便是其中代表。數量與種類眾多的家具體現當時官邸的使用形態。本研究以舊照片為基礎,配合文獻史料再製為圖面分析家具在室內空間中的配置,以理解當時的應用情況,從這些家具的選用了解使用者對於該空間的定義。根據研究成果發現總督官邸中和洋家具兼備,符合和洋二重生活的形態,並且由於總督官邸的特殊性,官邸中亦有不少具象徵殖民者身份與權威之意涵的家具物件。
Since Meiji Restoration, there were two major objective for japan government, one was westernization and the other one was modernization. The wa-yo-nijyu lifestyle had been founded during the process of combination between Japan tradition and western culture, which only aristocracy and the other upper class were able to live in. One of the material symbol of the wa-yo-nijyu lifestyle was living in the Japanese traditional building combined with a western-style building, where both western furniture and Japanese furniture. This phenomenon was not only in japan but also in Taiwan, the first colony of japan from 1895 to 1945, and Taiwan governor-general’s residence represented a typical case of wa-yo-nijyu lifestyle. Various furniture had been used to support daily life and particular activities in Taiwan governor-general’s residence. In practical discussion of this study based on a batch of old images, after matching literary composition and then make a diagram in order to analyze the furniture configuration and application of Taiwan governor-general’s residence. According to research achievements, the furniture items of Taiwan governor-general’s residence represented in japan style and western style, which is the identification of wa-yo-nijyu lifestyle. Furthermore, due to the characteristic of Taiwan governor-general’s residence, there were several furniture items symbolized the identity and authority of colonist.
