從關鍵技術到手機創意設計

From Significant Technology to the Creative Design of Mobile Phone

摘要


手機的技術發展至今,其功能不斷精進,價格也一再平民化。當今,手機已是全球最普及的電子產品之一,幾乎成為吾人日常生活中不可或缺的物件。這個影響,已經穿越資訊影音的虛擬邊界,蔓延至真實的生活空間中。目睹手機市場上,一波波新產品如排山倒海般的推陳出新,更新速度之快,讓設計師絞盡腦汁、黔驢技窮。許多新產品的推出,竟只是非理性的「為變而變」,既造成資源浪費,也造成生產與人力的不當消耗,有違永續發展的精神。因此,如何在資源短缺的永續時代,理性思考從事創新,切實因應技術發展與使用者需求進行手機之創新設計,乃為本研究的首要任務。 綜觀手機發展至今,約略經歷四波風潮。第1波風潮在數位取代類比行動後,手機在設計上得以輕量化;第2波風潮其設計思維則是讓手機走向消費化、普及化;第3波風潮則融入了時尚精神,並建立了品牌風格;而第4波則在iPhone極致的表現中,樹立了重視使用者體驗的典範。本研究認為,未來手機在創意設計過程中,應開發具有「利基功能」之手機,而在流程操作上則由手機發展之「關鍵技術」與「使用者需求」趨勢,藉情境分析導出3款因應吾人「使用者行為」與「使用者環境」的創意手機設計,並思考其對人與空間互動之影響。主要研究方法有文獻分析、情境模擬及實質設計操作、分析與比較等。主要結果如下:1.關需情設計法;2.基本功能與利基功能的加值應用;3.智慧型手機致使空間屬性之多元化及模糊化。

Nowadays, the functions of mobile phones have improved continuously and prices have reached affordable levels. Currently, mobile phones have become one of the most popular electronic products, and are nearly indispensable in daily life. The influences of mobile phones have crossed the virtual video and audio boundary and spread to reality. Rapid innovation and overwhelming new products have put designers in a difficult position. The release of numerous new products is an irrational phenomenon of “innovating for the sake of innovation.” This phenomenon not only wastes resources but also causes inappropriate consumption of production capabilities and human resources, and is contrary to the spirit of sustainable development. The major aim of this study is to implement an innovative and rational design for mobile phones in compliance with technical developments and the requirements of users in this era of insufficient resources. To date, mobile phone development has experienced four waves. The first wave occurred after the replacement of advanced mobile phone systems by digital systems, and mobile phone designs became lighter. The design ideas of the second wave made mobile phones consumption-oriented and popular. During the third wave, fashion was incorporated and brand styles were established; whereas in the fourth wave, iPhone, in its ultimate performance, established an example of valuing the experiences of users. This study believes mobile phones with “niche functions” will be developed as a result of the on going process of creative product design in the future. Based on scenario analysis three models of mobile phones that comply with “user behavior” and “user environment” were designed using trends of “significant technologies” and “user requirements” for mobile phone development. Additionally, the effect of interactions between mobile phones and people as well as between mobile phones and space are considered. The study methods include literature review, situational simulation and physical design operations, analysis, and comparison. The major outcomes are as follows: 1. a design method which considers significant technologies, user requirements and scenario analysis; 2.value-added application of niche functions; 3.Intelligent mobile phones lead to a diversified and hybrid lifestyle.
