Nowadays, the natural resources are in short supply, therefore synthetic chemicals are used to replace the natural ones. Most of these chemicals are imported from abroad. For the purpose of cost down, manufacturer are trying to prepare these chemicals locally. The first step in this operation is to learn the formulation of these imported chemicals. In this thesis , two chemicals, one of them, used in leather making, and the other, used in surface treatment, are studied. Modern analytic methods, included NMR spectroscopy, Mass spectroscopy, elemental analysis, Infrared spectroscopy are used to study the formulations.
