經濟發展是台灣生存重要基石，而撐起這基石的正是台灣多年來所發展的電子產業，IC設計公司的成立讓台灣由電子產業代工轉而朝向產品設計與發展接近。基於全球化的商業環境，IC設計公司若要永續生存發展，除了從傳統組織內部努力外更需重視產業環境所帶來的影響；本研究旨在探討IC設計產業生態、競合策略及產品創新三者之關聯性及其重要性。
本研究文獻藉由探討物種生態系、競合及演化並將之對映到商業產業環境、競合策略及創新，進而建構出此一架構：產業環境－＞競合策略－＞產品創新－＞產業環境。此架構說明著不論物種或企業在其所在環境中為求生存而相互競爭及合作以取得資源，透過競爭及合作,物種和企業形成創新演化，如此的創新後將會再度回饋到環境中。在實證研究方面，本研究針對IC設計產業前十大公司中之四家個案，進行訪談實證研究所獲得的重要要結果：
1. IC設計產業環境影響著IC設計公司之競合策略。
2. IC設計公司之競合策略影響著產品創新。
3. IC設計公司之產品創新將回饋於產業環境中。
4. IC設計公司之生存發展必須靠著不斷競合策略及創新。
本研究最後所提出的結論及建議為，企業要成功的永續生存除內在組織的努力,在全球化的商業體系下面臨著全球市場、競爭對手及各種資源，故如何取得這些資源對企業來說是重要的競爭力來源，企業可透過競合策略取得這些資源，進而可協助企業在產品的創新；這創新的產生正是企業和產業環境永續生存的條件。

ABSTRACT
The foundation of survivorship for Taiwan is economical development and the support of foundation is exactly the electronic industry, developed for several years in Taiwan. The establishment of IC design house changes the development direction of Taiwan’s electronic industry from foundry services to product design. IC design house must play more attention to not only the traditional and internal organization reform but also the effects of industry circumstance on the survivorship and development of company, based on the trend of global economical circumstance. This study investigates the relationship and importance among the industry circumstance of IC design house, co-opetition strategy and product innovation.
This study is successful to construct a frame related to industry circumstance, co-opetition strategy and innovation by the investigating and introducing the ecosystem, co-opetition and evolution of species:
Industry circumstance Co-opetition Product innovation Industry circumstance
Both species and industry look for surviving by competition and co-opetition to acquire resource. Spices and industry generate the innovation by the procedure of competition and merger, and then the innovation will reword into circumstance cyclically.
The demonstration carried out very important results after interview 4 of the top 10 IC design houses:
1. The industry circumstance of IC design influences the competition-merger strategy of IC design house.
2. The competition-merger strategy of IC design house influences the innovation of new generation product.
3. The industry circumstance will reword for the new generation product of IC design house.
4. The development and survivorship of IC design house are dependent on continue using co-opetition strategy and innovation.
5. The summary of this study is to face global market, strong competition and all kind of different resources under variety global circumstance a successful industry need to make big efforts on internal organization reform and it is also very important to get those resources, that are the source of competitive power, for forever survivorship. Industry can get those resources by using competition-merger strategy and then to assist in the product innovation. The generation of innovation is exactly an important condition of forever survivorship for business and industry circumstance.
