振動環境下對終端機視覺績效之影響

摘要


在很多的閱讀任務中,通常需要精確的監測視覺的資訊。因此,我們需要增加人類在振動環境下的設備設計並建立更多精確的標準值,以描述振動在閱讀任務下對績效的影響。基於上述,設計關於視覺終端顯示器呈現的特性與閱讀任務中可能遇到的振動之可能交互影響之效果的步驟更形重要。 本研究建立一實驗來探討振動環境下視覺終端顯示器呈現特性對使用者之視覺績效與視覺疲勞之相關問題。設計因子為:字體大小(6pt、9pt、12pt)、字數多寡(1、2、4)、振幅(2pt、4pt、6pt、8pt)、振動頻率(2.5Hz、5Hz、10Hz、20Hz、40Hz)與方向(垂直振動、水平振動),以反應時間、正確率、CFF、視力值與主觀評量表來評估視覺績效與視覺疲勞。 本研究的結果如下:(1) 振動頻率的五個水準(2.5Hz、5Hz、10Hz、20Hz、40Hz)對於反應時間、命中率與視覺疲勞有顯著性影響。(2)振幅的四個水準(2pt、4pt、6pt、8pt)對於視覺績效與視覺疲勞亦有顯著性影響。(3)垂直振動下的視覺績效優於水平振動下的視覺績效。(4)字數為一個與字體大小為12的顯示特性在閱讀任務中,可以獲得最佳的視覺績效。 本研究結果可提供設計人員在設計電腦終端機作業工作站時,找到合適的字體大小與字數多寡的建議值,以提供作業人員的視覺績效,並可有效降低視覺疲勞。

In many reading tasks, it is frequently necessary to accurately monitor visually presented information. It is therefore important at the design stage to be able to make realistic predictions concerning the probable interaction of display characteristics on Visual Display Terminal (VDT) and the effects of vibration that are likely to be encountered in the reading task. An experiment was conducted in this study to investigate the effect of vibration environment and Visual Display Terminal (VDT) characteristics design on visual performance and visual fatigue. The design factors are the font size of numerics (6pt, 9pt, 12pt), numbers (1, 2, 4), vibration amplitude (2pt, 4pt, 6pt, 8pt) vibration frequency (2.5Hz, 5Hz, 10Hz, 20Hz, 30Hz) and direction of vibration (vertical, horizontal). Visual performance and visual fatigue were measured by reaction time, accuracy, critical fusion frequency (CFF), vision, and subjective measures. The results of the experiment were as follow: (1) The five levels of frequency (2.5Hz, 5Hz, 10Hz, 20Hz, 40Hz)had significant effects on the reaction time, accuracy and visual fatigue. (2) The four levels of amplitudes(2 pt, 4 pt, 6 pt, 8pt) had significant effects on the visual performance and visual fatigue. (3) The vertical vibration had better visual performance than horizontal vibration. (4) The size of 12pt and one numeric had the best performance on reading task. Based on these findings, the designers can adopt different combinations of size and numbers of the numerics to promote operators’ visual performance and prevent visual fatigue effectively when designing VDT workstations.
