To begin with, this paper will give a brief introduction to the composition, design and analysis of cable-stayed bridge, and then study the cases of a single tower, two edge layers, and symmetrical fan style cable-stayed bridge as well as a fishing-rod style cable-stayed bridge in Taipei in terms of static and dynamics. At the end, it will have a discussion and recommendation. For the static part, this paper applies TANGO program to analyze the structural behaviors under different load combinations. The analysis includes cable forces, deck deflections and envelopes of stress. To ensure the combination stress lower than the allowable stress. For the dynamics part, this paper applies SAP 2000 software to perform two numerical models at the intersection of the pylon and deck, and then analyze the vibration mode shapes resulting from self-weight of cable-stayed bridge.
