This research aims to comprehend the relationship between tourist harassment and coping behavior. As tourist activities has increased significantly in recent years, different types of harassment are formed such as street venders, sexual workers, beggars, to name but a few. Tourist harassment could be defined as any actions annoy with tourist such as verbal abuse, physical contact. This topic is relatively new within academia, studies of tourist harassment are hampered by the lack of articles published by international journals, this field needs more researchers demonstrate through empirical approach. International backpackers as main research participants found in Kaohsiung International Airport and Hostels in Taiwan, this research adopted quantitative method with a totality of 222 valid questionnaires was substantiated. The results are as follows: (1) The international backpackers travelling in Taiwan generally felt more tourist-friendly than most counties they had ever been to. (2) Based on linear structural equation model, tourist harassment has a direct influence on the coping behavior. (3) Defining tourists whom were harassed in Taiwan are: independent travelers, younger, unmarried and unemployed, they mostly were students who had less travel experiences. Again, this topic is of importance in harassment from tourism perspective and is a first research to explain how the model works and relationship between the two, consequentially, the result of this research provides relevant recommendations as a source of reference for tourism industry and related organizations.
