本研究為探究南北越新住民母親在臺子女教養之實踐,透過質性研究訪談南越與北越新住民母親各6位,共12位,經過整理、分析、歸納與詮釋之後,探討南北越新住民母親在臺灣實踐教養子女的變化。 研究從越南原生家庭的被教養經驗和在臺對子女的教養實踐兩方面切入,研究發現如下:一、原生家庭的被教養經驗上,北越原生家庭的教養類型一致傾向「嚴父慈母」,南越原生家庭的教養類型則呈現「嚴父慈母」、「慈父慈母」、「慈父嚴母」三種。二、在臺對子女的教養實踐上,北越新住民母親的教養類型,包含「專制權威」和「開明權威」兩種,南越新住民母親的教養類型,包含「開明權威」和「寬鬆放任」兩種。隨著社會的改變,南、北越新住民母親對於子女的課業期待,皆呈現以子女個人興趣發展為重。比較特別的是,南、北越新住民母親都關注子女的問候禮節,然而北越新住民母親更重視尊長的倫常觀,這是一種「敬愛」的行為;再者,南、北越新住民母親與子女關係親密,不同的是南越新住民母親還會對子女「示弱」或「討愛」。
This study is to explore the practice of child upbringing of South and North Vietnamese new immigrant mothers in Taiwan. Qualitative research method was utilized to interview the 12 objects in this study including 6 South Vietnamese and 6 North Vietnamese. The collected data was complied, analyzed, induced, and interpreted to investigate the changes of the practice of child education of South and North Vietnamese mothers in Taiwan. The perspectives of this study included educational experience of the Vietnamese family of origin and the practice of child upbringing in Taiwan. The findings are as follows: 1. In terms of education types from the family of origin, North Vietnamese families are prone to “stern father and kind mother”, while South Vietnamese families are prone to “stern father and kind mother”, “kind father and kind mother”, and “kind father and stern mother”. 2. In terms of practice of upbringing in Taiwan, the educational approaches North Vietnamese mothers adopted included “authoritarian” and “authoritative”, while South Vietnamese mothers adopted “authoritative” and “indulgent”. With the changes of the society, both South and North Vietnamese mothers emphasized on the development of children’s interests as far as academic expectations. One special finding is that both South and North Vietnamese mothers focused on the children’s greeting manners. However, North Vietnamese mothers valued more on morality toward the elders, which is a presentation of “respectful love”. Furthermore, both South and North Vietnamese new immigrant mothers had close relationship with their children. The difference is that South Vietnamese mothers “conceded” to their children or “begged for love” from their children.
