This research is constructed to explore the experiences of being a counselor leading play therapy groups. Through both approaches of narrative analysis and collaborative therapy, the relationships between the role of being a leader and his relative experiences will be discussed. An understanding from means of “Talking with people” and “Dialogues with the text” will be presented. First of all, it is found in the dialogical process between the researcher and the participant that the counselor’s narrative about actions and intentions is getting richer and thickened. Next, the leader’s perspectives in terms of group members and himself are ongoing and transiting from the view of the relationship of “a rescuer vs. a victim” to the one of “a learner vs. a subject with unique experiences”. The findings regarding the text of the interviewing conversation above are: (1) the interweaving between actions and intentions seems to landscape the realistic situations of the leader in the play therapy group, and (2) the situations the leader persistently gave feedbacks in response to the members during the genetics of the group are similar to the circumstances of Hermeneutics. With being immersed in the experience and the text, the researcher found gradually the possibility of the relationship between a leader and the play therapy group, and also experienced the fusion of personally internal horizons. An inquiry to experiences and texts resembles getting closed to an understanding of the inquirer’s self.
